Five Card Draw

The idea behind Five Card Draw is to get the best hand of five cards.

How to play Five Card Draw

Each player is dealt five hole cards face down. The first player after the big blind has the option tofold,call or raise. Action continues clockwise around the poker table until all participants complete their betting round.

Once the first betting round is complete; there is a first draw. Each player selects the cards to discard. Discarding continues around the table to the left. After the first round to draw cards (the same amount as discarded), there is another betting round, beginning with the first active player to the left of the button. Therefore, the action sequence is:

1. Each player receives five cards.
2. First round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the big blind.
3. Discard and draw cards.
4. Second round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the big blind.
5. Showdown.

Showdown

The player with the best five-card hand wins the pot.
