Nadim Shabou WSOP DAY4
July 13, 2010 at the main event
The Day 4 had a good chance to be short and ..it was! I arrived at the Rio at 11:45 and I was looking for the table 301 in the red section. When I spotted the table, avery nice surprise was waiting for me, my table was picked as the ESPN Feature table, the bad news.. I had only 20k in chips and none of the sponsors, Pokerstars or Fultilt wanted to pick me to wear their logo because they were limited to 3 players only with logo per table, so I don’t blame them for choosing players with more chips, no extra money for me Oh well.
Anyway, after the technician put the mic on me, I was ready to fight for survival, the players on my left was a full tilt Pro named Brett Richey, on my right was a triple world boxing champ from Australia named Jeff Fenech ( I will try not to pick a fight with him lol!) and on my far left was the Double World Champ main event Johnny Freakin! Chan himself
( with all do respect, it’s a quote from rounder’s) with almost 600k in chips.
Well the equation was really simple for me, pick a spot and move all my chips with an acceptable hand and hope for the best. With the second hand dealt, I was ready to move in with A-8 off in mid position when the player before me raised, I hesitated and then folded, thinking maybe I was beat but more honestly, I wanted to stay a little longer than 2
